For Sani Nepali, coffee symbolizes food on the table, education for her children, and clothes on her body. Coffee promises independence as a single mother, offering a more manageable life than before.
In the morning, one can observe Sani cleaning the area, soon to be filled with red coffee beans. Her workday was just beginning after her long trek from her house up the steep hill. For Sani, coffee embodies happiness.
The red arabica coffee beans, scattered across the hilltops of Nalang village, soon to be harvested by the hands of Sani, have transformed her daily existence.
