A Nepali and an American walk into a bar in India. One of them says to the other: “Do you want to ski Himalaya?”
One year later the two of them look out at the heavy snowfall at Annapurna Base Camp located 4130 meters above sea level in the Himalayan mountain range.
Utsav Pathak and Luke Anderson sit inside one of the tea houses at the base camp. They arrived yesterday after four days of walking. The trek started with wearing t-shirts and crossing hanging bridges, then raincoats through the bamboo forest, and now ski gear at the base camp of the world's 10th largest mountain, Annapurna. It is a journey to get here, and there are no other skiers in sight.
“Will it ever stop snowing?”
“I hope so. If not we will have a bit too much snow tomorrow.”
